JJ is returning to Papahānaumokuākea. This time with even more stoke than before. His first trip there showed him how strong a team of determined people can be, and he canʻt wait to see how this team can work together to get it done. Growing up away from the ocean, it wasnʻt until college that he started learning about how special ocean ecosystems are. Having a strong community on Maui has created a space to explore passions like debris removal, at home and away. He wouldnʻt be going if it werenʻt for the friends supporting him or the team ahead of him. He also loves taco Tuesdays.
